Business Development Manager

Chris can get interested in any topic. That’s why he comes to SPROUT Content with such a diverse background — retail management, financial services sales, IT business development, magazine writing and content development. And that’s why he gets excited about developing our diverse clientele. 


After graduating from college, Chris set off to conquer the only market open to a history major: the world of retail management. In this environment, he learned quickly that it was people—not necessarily product—that held the key to success. He turned around several struggling stores by hiring, training and coaching the right team.


Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Chris moved to Colorado long after the gold rush but just in time to catch the tech boom in full swing. At IT distributor GE Access, he managed multimillion dollar accounts for end-users such as Northrup Grumman and the Department of Defense.  


He eventually revisited a longtime interest: storytelling, landing internships at magazines such as Velonews, 5280, and SKI. Along the way, he earned a master’s in creative writing from the University of Denver, worked at a web search start-up, and wrote a column for Yellow Scene Magazine. This hands-on experience led him to the burgeoning world of web content writing where he has worked with a number of commercial clients.


Chris and his wife love the outdoors: cycling, skiing, hiking, camping, watching wildlife, particularly raptors. They also like to travel, citing Belgium as a favorite country, and New Orleans as the coolest city in the world.
