We recently had an energetic, thought-provoking conversation with our new friend, international brand marketing consultant Said Baaghil. We met Said while working on a project for a Saudi based company and have developed a great connection that is turning into a flourishing business relationship.
We share lots of similar ideas and passions about the impact and importance of brand storytelling, so we got together last week in Atlanta to talk more. One of the main topics of conversation was that many companies are not focusing enough on their content or telling their story as completely as they can be (or at all!). Brand stories create and sustain relationships with people and lots of companies are, unfortunately, missing the boat. Every brand has a story...and it needs to be told.
There are also different types of brand stories depending on the type of product, the timing of their entrance into a category and whether they have a more functional or lifestyle story. Brand stories are what make people decide if they like you and want to let you into their lives, and their wallets.
All of this story talk got all of us so revved up that we just finished an article about the topic that will be published in several well-known business and marketing publications in the Middle East and possibly the U.S... and a book is next in the works!
