Giving Thanks to Content Marketing
You may have been inspired by the widespread 30 Days of Thanks playing out over social media this month. Participants post one reason to be grateful each day during the month of November. While we certainly have more than 30 reasons to be thankful, here are five highlights from the past year:
1. Our Industry
We are thankful content marketing is gaining speed and that we've been in the race since the very beginning. Research continually shows that we made the right decision in branching out to a relatively unknown business four years ago. But content is catching on! More marketers are moving away from traditional public relations and advertising and really examining a businesses' relationship with its customers. Budgets for developing content continue to grow as business owners realize that content that actually helps people has more value than a slick advertising campaign. We love being a part of this growing industry and helping our clients tell their stories.
2. Our Clients
Telling those stories has given us insight into some pretty amazing businesses. From paper converting to trade show services to document shredding and storage to commercial real estate and many more, our clients all have one thing in common: their businesses are interesting! We feel strongly that no business is boring if you delve deep into its story and find what connects it to its customers. We love to say that whether you are B2C or B2B, it's really just about P2P (Person to Person!). So, throw out the business jargon and start a conversation your customers truly care about.
3. Our Staff
Over the past year, we've grown our staff to a strong team of multi-talented people. Not only are they creative writers, but they also bring business development, sales, research and operation management experience to the table. We are thrilled to be working with such a cohesive team and look forward to what next year has in store for us.
4. Brands in Glass Houses
We achieved a life-long goal when we became published authors with the recent launch of "Brands in Glass Houses: How to Embrace Transparency & Grow your Business Through Content Marketing". This book was a labor of love for SPROUT Content Co-founders Dechay Watts and Debbie Williams. It allowed them to share their vision for content marketing to a larger audience. If you own your own business or work as a marketer, this is a must-read to learn how to do content marketing right.
5. The Mile High City
From sugar white sand to powdery snow, we like white stuff! This year allowed us the opportunity to expand our company's operations from Pensacola, Florida to Denver, Colorado. Now that we are spanning two time zones, we are covering more ground and adding more clients to our family.
