SPROUT CONTENT GROWS 71% DURING ECONOMIC DOWNTURN

PENSACOLA, FLA — OCTOBER 10, 2011Content marketing agency SPROUT Content continues to grow during dismal economic conditions, having achieved 71% growth from 2009-10, the first year the company worked under the SPROUT Content name. Based on the Gulf Coast, this growth occurred during the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and in the midst of a looming recession. To date, SPROUT Content is on target to increase profits 40% from 2010-11 during continuing economic turmoil. As the company grows, the businesses they work with grow and prosper during tough times and with limited marketing budgets.

“We are teaching businesses the importance and effectiveness of content marketing,” says Dechay Watts, Sprout Content Co-Founder/CEO. “Just a few years ago, content marketing was a scarcely heard term, and now it’s a booming industry in itself and growing every day. We believe in what we do, and we’re honored to help businesses thrive through marketing practices that really achieve goals and produce results.”

Sprout Content’s growth can be attributed in part to the shift in the marketing industry. “Businesses are realizing the ineffectiveness of staid traditional advertising,” says Debbie Williams, Sprout Content Co-Founder/Chief Content Officer. “We don’t create ads placed in limited distribution hoping the right people will see them. We help companies really connect and build meaningful relationships with the people they want to do business with by delivering information they can use, where and how they want to receive it.”

In the past year, Sprout Content has been named one of email marketing company Constant Contact’s All Stars out of 400,000 clients and become regular expert contributors to the Content Marketing Institute blog. The company's blog was also honored as a Best of the Best Blog by Alltop, marketing expert Guy Kawasaki’s blog. Sprout founders have also spoken at networking groups nationwide, including the Content Strategy Meetup Group in Atlanta and the Pensacola Chamber Social Media Seminar Series. They joined fellow content marketing experts from around the world at conferences including Web Content 2010 in Chicago, ConFab in Minneapolis and Content Marketing World in Cleveland.

“I believe part of our success comes from being real and honest, which is what content marketing is about,” says Watts. “If a company comes to us jumping to get on Facebook, we are not afraid to slow them down. We help businesses figure out the right content marketing services and tactics that will make the most sense and impact for them.”

Sprout Content evolved from Watts Writing Studio at the start of 2010.Watts Writing Studio was founded by Dechay Watts in 2006 as an individual provider of website content. Today Sprout Content works with dozens of clients nationwide on the development of tactical content marketing strategy and the creation of original, purposeful content that delivers results. The founders of Sprout are passionate about working with businesses in the healthy living industry that believe in what they do and make a difference in people’s lives.
